Jackie Robinson Lecture

Start: 04 Mar 2010 07:30 PM

End: 04 Mar 2010 09:30 PM

IQI_lecture_j_robinsonJackie joins us in March for the lecture "Frank Lloyd Wright; the man, his designs, and how they work for Quilters."

Undoubtedly one of the best known architects of all time, Mr. Wright had a genius for design. In this biographical lecture I "put him on" (in costume) and explore the man and how he developed as an architect. Wright's life was similar to a soap opera, and this program is both informative and humorous. Slides show some of his work. I'll share all 18 quilts from the book. With the permission of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, I've been building quilts based on his art glass designs. This is a very popular lecture, and a good one to share with spouses.

An international teacher and lecturer since 1989, Jackie has authored twelve quilting books and is a National Artisan for Bernina. She is best known for her geometric patterns, creating new and expanded designs from traditional shapes. Jackie has made in excess of 400 quilts. Jackie may also be recognized for the fabrics she has designed for Maywood Studio
